TITULIA CITY (TC) | A source in the RNC Leadership Office has told TC that RNC Leader Julian (R-Con) will announce a Presidential bid on or before Friday. However, this source says that he does not know anything about the coalition talks on whether or not the Linardists would support a Julian bid for the Presidency. Talks on gaining Liberal Republican support fell when it was announced that they overwhelmingly rejected a coalition deal. Talks with the Linardists have been ongoing since Saturday, when they were formally opened. The RNC Daily has reported that talks so far had been ‘positive’.
The source continues to say that RNC Leader Julian has been setting his eyes at Liberty House for a very long time. He came close in Oct/Nov 2009 election as then-Presidential Candidate Alex Pijanowski (L) ‘s running mate. He also had another chance when the GOP Branch nominated him to run as its Vice-Presidential candidate. However, these talks fell when the GOP Branch Members left the RNC to form the Liberal Republicans. The rogue branch eventually settled on new leader Leah Carmody and James Matthews as its ticket. It eventually lost to now-President Bill Money (LN) and VP Reformer (SDP).
Mr. Julian may have to face some opposition. While the Liberal Republicans have stated that they have no nominee so far, they have opened their nomination process.
Polls suggest that longtime Vice President Reformer (SDP) may run ,as his profile states that he will only be VP until May 2010.
If an RNC-Linardist deal is forged, President Money can be ruled out as a nominee as he has announced he will focus on the East Titulia Company.
